Daya Gamage

Director

Daya Gamage has had an extensive professional experience for well over two-and-a-half decades in America’s overseas foreign policy trajectory in South Asia as a Foreign Service National Political Specialist of the U.S. Department of State.

Professionally trained in public affairs and public diplomacy, Mr. Gamage’s foreign affairs portfolio embraced trade, commerce and investments between Sri Lanka and the United States. As it’s commonly known that ‘foreign policy is domestic policy as well as domestic policy is foreign policy’, during his tenure at the US embassy in Sri Lanka he analyzed and monitored both these inter-connected fields’ rapport with trade and commerce that involved both nations.

Mr. Gamage earned his degree program in Economics and European Political Development at the University of Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in the late 1960s, had the opportunity to use the U.S. State Department’s legal education program to pursue a legal degree in a Sri Lankan university.

In 2017 he published a monograph on U.S. foreign policy trajectory in South Asia centering on Sri Lanka.
